Tony Hawk & Friends Raise $1 Million For Charity

Pro-skateboarder Tony Hawk and his celebrity friends, including Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, David Spade, Bam Margera and Perry Ferrell, helped raise over $1 million for the Tony Hawk Foundation.

The 5th annual Acitivision Presents Stand Up for Skateparks event was staged in Beverly Hills on Sunday (November 9) with a mission to bring free, quality skateparks to low-income communities in America.

“It doesn’t take long for cities to realize that their modest skateparks get more use than the local tennis courts or baseball fields,” Hawk says in a statement on his website.

“We are proud to be a part of this process of enlightenment.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis' set book for TV adaption

Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis' 2004 autobiography, 'Scar Tissue', is set to be adapted for a new TV show on US network HBO.

The show, produced by Marc Abrams and Michael Benson, is set to be an offbeat comedy, reports the Guardian.

It will focus on the singer's early life in Los Angeles, where he lived with his father, a drug dealer to musicians in the area, plus beyond into the LA rock scene.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently on hiatus, with the band previously saying they would take a break from band commitments for at least a year from May 2008.
